Dune Mansion

Visual Harmony

Rooted in Dutch heritage, the design of this newly built 1200 sqm family home draws on local history and the surrounding coastal landscape. The contemporary residence has an air of calm authority, as if it has always been there. Soft tones of sand, green, and sea-washed blue form the foundation, with touches of burnt orange adding warmth and rhythm throughout.

From the earliest drawings, every inch of this four-storey building was meticulously shaped, from sightlines to staircases, from ceiling heights to door proportions. The result is a home where visual harmony is never accidental. Sophisticated custom furniture mirrors architectural gestures: a chaise longue curves to echo the ceiling mouldings, while the receding circular pattern on the hall doors subtly draws the eye inward.

Craftsmanship and comfort coexist seamlessly with state-of-the-art systems to control climate, lighting, and security—always discreetly hidden. In the kitchen, hand-glazed Harlinger tiles bring tradition into the heart of the home. Yet beyond its serene aesthetic, the mansion accommodates all the functions of contemporary living: a wellness and fitness room, wine cellar, study, expansive living spaces, and six en-suite bedrooms, all seamlessly integrated into the dedicated interior architecture.

Local flora is poetically woven in. Strawberry clover adorns the curtains, bracken fern and sea lavender are mirrored on the walls. In the living room, linen curtains depict an abstract seafloor garden. In the guest room, soapwort is delicately embroidered white-on-white. If a home ever could embody its unique location, this sublime dune mansion comes pretty close.
