Yacht Design
Weaving Layers
If there was ever a need to define depth of detail, this 22-meter Mulder yacht makes a compelling case. Going by the name Olaf, the awe-inspiring vessel has been sculpted to navigate the Mediterranean Sea in style. The journey began with the owner’s explicit wish for a harmonious interior that exudes the warmth and comfort of a Rolls-Royce. The car maker’s renowned approach to bespoke luxury, timeless elegance, and meticulous craftsmanship became the perfect inspiration for the yacht’s intricately imagined interior.

Weaving layers of luxury, the design concept is brought to life by a composition of complementary materials, textures, and refined detailing. Take the cabinetry in the owner’s cabin, finished with the wavy, almost liquid appearance of moiré: a tactile surface that gently reminds us we are, indeed, still at sea. That same precision extends to the construction and closing mechanisms of the glass cabinet in the galley: a crystal-clear centrepiece that required thoughtful design with regard to safety, bearing in mind what a heavy swell could do to glass.
Custom-designed brass elements, such as the rectangular door handles, add a bold, robust touch. Natural materials, woven into elegant grasscloth wallpaper, adorn the headboard in the master cabin. In fact, the layout of the owner’s cabin is completely mirrored, a clever approach that enhances space in the relatively compact rooms aboard a yacht. From leather stitching in contrasting colours to bespoke carpet designs with varying pile heights, every square inch has been meticulously considered.
